Sunningdale also hosted the Womens British Open in 1997, in 2004, and again in 2008. The old course at Sunningdale designed by Willie Park Jr. opened for play in 1901 and it is famous for it's 103 bunkers, and tight Pine, Oak, and Heather lined fairways.
