tThe new 2013-14 season continues here this week at the McGladrey Classic in it's fourth year with the famed Sea Island Seaside Course hosting for the third time here in 2013. The tournament will feature a 132 player field of PGA Tour competitors trying to get a heads up start on the new season and the 2014 FedExCup race. The Seaside Course was built in 1929 by Colt and Allison revamped by Tom Fazio in 1999 has been host to many celebrities and past Presidents as well as a favorite of Georgia's own Bobby Jones. The tournament chairman is Sea Island resident and PGA Tour player Davis Love who's Foundation will be the primary charitible benefactor with brother and sometimes caddie Mark Love serving as Executive Director of the tournament. This is a decent field though many of the top names are taking the week off or resting from the long PGA Tour season. Past champions of this event are Heath Slocum, Ben Crane, with Tommy Gainey defending his title after winning here in 2012. Seaside G.C. Images Jeffrey A. Rendall view here:
