The Chevron World Challenge field is comprised of the top 11 players from the World Golf Ranking as of September 30, 2008 -(Who accept invitations to play), plus the defending champion from the previous year, along with four sponsors exemptions - comprising 16 in all. 

Another 'Silly Season' event with a large first prize and sizable 'guarantee' financially just for 'showing up' it's -the 'icing in the cake', the 'gravy on the prime rib',  or that expensive bottle of wine at dinner to celebrate a successful year for both the players and caddies lucky enough to be playing in Tiger's Chevron World Challenge!

However it is all for a good cause!
