CaddyBytes ⛳ 2026 Wyndham Championship Final Round Recap: Michael Brennan closed out the PGA TOUR regular season in style Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club, firing a final-round 6-under 64 to finish at 22-under 258 and win the 2026 Wyndham Championship by three shots. Brennan, who began the day tied for the lead after a third-round 63, kept the pressure on all afternoon and pulled away from a crowded leaderboard with a steady stream of birdies and composed shotmaking down the stretch.

The final round opened with far more than a trophy at stake. Players across the field were battling for position inside the FedExCup top 70 and one last chance to qualify for the playoffs. Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth both put together early birdie runs, Hideki Matsuyama surged with four straight birdies, and Tom Kim briefly climbed into a share of the lead at 16-under as the leaderboard tightened.

Brennan answered every challenge. After moving into a tie for the lead, he birdied three straight holes through the sixth and continued to attack pins while playing alongside Beau Hossler. A large Wake Forest following stayed with Brennan throughout the round, and the 24-year-old gave them plenty to celebrate as he maintained control through the back nine.

Hossler stayed within striking distance and produced several big moments of his own, including an eagle early in the round and a much-needed late birdie, but Brennan never gave the door back. He finished three clear of Hossler, who shot 67 to take second alone at 19-under 261.

Ben James delivered the round of the day among the closest pursuers, closing with a brilliant 9-under 61 to jump into solo third at 18-under 262. Kevin Yu finished fourth at 16-under after a 66, while Harry Hall and Tom Kim tied for fifth at 15-under. Hideki Matsuyama, Alex Noren, Andrew Novak, Alex Smalley and Matt Wallace finished tied for seventh at 14-under.

Brennan sealed the victory with another quality approach on the closing stretch and a final birdie that brought an emotional celebration from his family and supporters. His four rounds of 66-65-63-64 produced a 22-under total and capped a breakthrough week with the biggest win of his career.
