CaddyBytes 2025 Recap: The 2025 Genesis Invitational delivered a dramatic Sunday finish at Torrey Pines, as the PGA Tour’s best battled a demanding setup along the cliffs of San Diego under perfect scoring conditions. The event was moved for one year due to the Pacific Palisades wildfire in Los Angeles, near the tournament’s traditional home at Riviera Country Club — but the Genesis is officially back at Riviera this year. With Tiger Woods on site as tournament host, the final round quickly turned into a heavyweight showdown featuring Maverick McNealy, Scottie Scheffler, and Patrick Cantlay all making serious runs at the trophy. McNealy looked in control early, stacking birdies and holding his ground, but Ludvig Åberg refused to back off. The Swede caught fire on the back nine, attacking pins and surging with clutch birdies through Torrey’s brutal closing stretch. His momentum swing through holes 13–15 changed everything, capped by a massive uphill putt that electrified the crowd. By the end, Åberg’s late charge was simply too strong — finishing with four birdies over his final six holes to win Tiger’s tournament in signature-event fashion.
