The Bank of Utah Championship is a PGA TOUR FedExCup Fall event at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, with Southern Utah storylines, desert-course strategy, Black Desert scenery, and fall-season status pressure in play.
Austin Smotherman claimed his first PGA Tour victory with a 3-under 68 to finish at a tournament-record 26 under at the 2026 Bank of Utah Championship. His 258 total at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, secured a two-stroke victory over Doug Ghim.
CaddyBytes 🏆 Final Round Recap: Smotherman turned a week of outstanding scoring into a breakthrough victory, completing rounds of 63, 62, 65 and 68. He began Sunday one shot ahead of Ghim, built some breathing room, then recovered from a back-nine double bogey to finish the job with a birdie at the par-5 18th.
Smotherman's approach at the long par-4 fourth used the green's contours to finish close, setting up a birdie that took him to 25 under. Another birdie at the fifth moved him to 26 under. The round became much tighter when trouble at the 13th produced a double bogey, cutting his three-shot advantage to just one.
The response came immediately at the 14th. Smotherman put his tee shot inside 10 feet and, although the eagle putt slipped away, converted the birdie to regain momentum. Another important birdie at the 16th restored him to 26 under. A bogey at the 17th reduced the lead to two, but a well-judged eagle attempt at the last left a short birdie putt to seal the championship.
Doug Ghim stayed in the chase with a late birdie putt from 21 feet, then birdied the closing hole to finish alone in second at 24 under. His final-round 69 completed a 260 total, two shots short of Smotherman after entering the day only one behind.
Trace Crowe answered a bogey at the 13th with a long birdie putt that moved him to 23 under and briefly within one of the lead. His closing 66 secured a tie for third with David Ford, whose 7-under 64 brought him to the same 261 total.
Ben James and Kevin Streelman each closed with 67 to share fifth at 22 under. Luke Clanton delivered the lowest final round among the top-10 finishers, a 9-under 62, to join Steven Fisk in seventh at 21 under. Rico Hoey, Johnny Keefer and Neal Shipley completed the top 10 and ties at 19 under.
Smotherman wins by two over Ghim, with Crowe and Ford sharing third. Twelve players finished in the top 10 and ties.

Final-round scoring theme: Clanton's 62 and Ford's 64 produced major moves, while Crowe's 66 kept him in the late conversation. Smotherman's 68 combined early birdies with a crucial recovery after the double bogey to protect his place at the top.
Final-round takeaway: Smotherman's most important work came after the lead shrank to one. The birdie at the 14th stopped the slide, the putt at the 16th restored a cushion, and the closing birdie secured his first PGA Tour title in record-setting fashion.
Championship finish: With Ghim still able to reach 25 under with an eagle at the last, Smotherman played the closing hole knowing the tournament remained within reach of his nearest challenger. Both finished with birdies, leaving Smotherman at 26 under and Ghim at 24 under.
