CaddyBytes 🏆 2026 Maybank Championship Round 3 Recap: Yamashita kept her title defense on track with a third consecutive round in the 60s. Her controlled approaches continued to create birdie opportunities, and she finished Saturday with the same two-shot cushion she held overnight. Following rounds of 65, 66, and 67, the Japanese star has 18 holes remaining in her bid to retain the championship.
Liu produced the day's standout charge with a 9-under 63, capped by a spectacular hole-out eagle at the par-5 18th. Her round lifted her from 7 under to 16 under and into a tie for second. First-round leader Roussin-Bouchard matched Yamashita's 67 to stay two strokes back as she pursues her first LPGA Tour victory.
Thai amateur Marisa Tojai posted a second straight 65 to reach 14 under, sharing fourth place with Australia's Robyn Choi, who shot 66. Both are four strokes behind Yamashita. Aditi Ashok (66), Perrine Delacour (67), and Julia Lopez Ramirez (71) are tied for sixth at 12 under.
Minji Kang climbed into a four-way tie for ninth at 11 under with a 65, joining A Lim Kim, Arpichaya Yubol, and Yuri Yoshida. The final-round chase starts with Liu and Roussin-Bouchard closest to the lead, while Tojai and Choi will look for another low round to put pressure on the defending champion.
