This is Pinehurst #2 as set up for the 2005 U.S. Open golf tournament! Designed by Donald Ross in 1907 these classic crowned Ross greens were restored and converted to bent grass by Nicklaus in 1986 again by Rees Jones in 1996. Look at the second shot view into the greens and you'll see a 'horizonal dip' in the terrain obscuring the views of greenside bunkers and making the shots into the greens appear closer or further away than the actual yardage. Ross did this to intentionally distort your depth perception and ability to judge the distance by the naked eye. Click START SLIDE SHOW (Images 1 - 24 of 24)
