Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2016 Wyndham Championship Once called the GGO (Greater Greensboro Open) in PGA Tour days past.   That old Greater Greensboro Open used to be played in the spring the week before the Masters. The GGO had some great history dating back to it's inception in 1938 with the late Sam Snead emerging as the inaugural winner - a tourney Snead won a record total of eight times. A revamped Sedgefield CC is the current venue on which Sneed won those early events with Forest Oaks being the longest venue the tournament has been played at. This is the final official FedExCup qualifying event in 2016 with the top 125 players after this tournament moving on to the FedExCup playoffs beginning next week. Past champions of this tournament old and new include Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Lloyd Mangrum, Bob Goalby, Julius Boros, Doug Ford, Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros & more with Davis Love defending here in 2016.
