Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament! Formerly the 'Phoenix Open' has had many corporate sponsors since it's inception in 1940. The 2018 event will be mark the 78th year that the Phoenix Open has been around. (One of the five oldest events now on the PGA Tour schedule.). The tournament is played over the TPC of Scottsdale golf course and attendance is annually about 400,000 spectators each year there. The 16th hole seats 20,000 fans now in 2018 with seating completely surrounding the par three 16th Hole from tee to green! Some great champions have been crowned in the history of the Phoenix Open like Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Jimmy Demaret, Walter Hagen, Billy Casper, Gene Littler, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Johnny Miller, Ben Crenshaw, and more recently Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh. J.B. Holmes won in 2008, Kenny Perry in 2009, Hunter Mahan in '10, Mark Wilson in 2012, Phil Mickelson in 2013, Kevin Stadler in '14, Brooks Koepka '15, & with Hidecki Matsuyama winning here the past two years and defending this week.
