Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2016 Zurich at New Orleans Classic golf tournament! The Zurich Classic is being played at the Pete Dye/Steve Elkington designed TPC of Louisiana golf club where the golf tournament was held in 2005 for the first time. The new course was inundated by 20 feet of water by Hurricane Katrina and later that year and the event was forced back to be played at English Turn the next year in 2006. The tournament then returned to TPC Louisiana and has been the host course since 2007.. Jimmy Walker defends this week. New Orleans Louisiana has been a stop on the professional golf circuit since 1938 beginning with the Crescent City Open which then became known as the New Orleans Open. Those early 'New Orlean's Opens' were played at the City Park golf club and then at Lakewood golf club from 1963 to 1989. The venue then moved to the Jack Nicklaus designed English Turn golf club until the new TPC Louisiana was completed. Justin Rose will be defending here this week.. |
