Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2016 John Deere Classic golf tournament played at the TPC Deere Run in Moline, IL. The John Deere Classic and the Quad Cities area has hosted a professional stop on the PGA Tour since 1971 with the inception of the old Quad Cities Open. Ed McMahon was once the celebrity sponsor in vogue here in the late 1970's. Then there were a couple of beer companies, then the Hardee's Classic for almost ten years, and now the home town based John Deere company has been hosting since 1999. Deane Beman won the first two Quad Cities Opens at the old Coal Valley course. David Frost won twice there as well. Other champions include Steve Stricker who completed the hat trick of three in a row after winning the the event in 2011. Zach Johnson ended that streak after winning in 2012. Jordan Speith is absent from defending here in 2016 after winning this event for the second time in 2015. |
