Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2016 Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tournament! Formerly the 'The Bay Hill Classic, played on Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill golf club's tournament golf course in Orlando, FL. The Arnold Palmer Invitational is the fourth and final stop of the PGA Tour's Florida swing of golf tournament events in the month of March. The qualifications for entry into the tournament are the top 70 on this year's money list through the Honda Classic, tournament winners of the last two years on the PGA Tour, and a list of foreign winners and exemptions which insures a quality field of top players in the world. (And of course whomever else Mr. Palmer may choose to invite.). There have been some great champions in Bay Hill and Arnold Palmer Invitational past that have included the late Payne Stewart, Ben Crenshaw, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, Vijay Singh, and Tiger Woods who's won this event a record seven times after winning back to back in '12 & '13. Tiger is not back from surgery recovery as of yet in 2016. Matt Every will try to make it three in a row after winning this event the past two consequetive years and is defending this week. |
