Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2009 Tiger Woods Chevron World Challenge -formerly Target World Challenge golf tournament.  The Tiger Woods Chevron World Challenge is played at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California.

The annual format is that sixteen of the world's best golfers compete in a 72 hole stroke play event.  The field is comprised of the top eleven players from the World Golf Ranking as of September 30, 2008.  (Who accept invitations to play).

The defending champion, (Vijay Singh), from last year's tourney automatically qualifies to play as well as four picks to be determined by the Tiger Woods Foundation whom the tournament primarily benefits.

Tiger is back this year and the Chevron Challenge is now an official event where performance in this tournament counts with regard to participant world ranking.  The tournament is being played earlier this year in a down economy and no Skins Game and coinciding with Tour School the week of December 1st - 7th 2009.
