Welcome to our tournament page for the 2006 International golf tournament.  The INTERNATIONAL originated in 1986 under the tutelage of Jack Vickers who was looking to promote his new Jack Nicklaus designed Castle Pines Golf Club for a PGA Tour event.  The Vickers people came up with a Stableford scoring format which works well on the risk reward mountain layout.  The golf course sits at 6,400 feet of elevation with many uphill and downhill holes where the golf ball travels 10 to 25 percent farther than at sea level.

In Stableford format red numbers are bad and black numbers are good.  You get plus (+2) Points for a birdie.  0 points for a par.  -1 Point for a bogey.  Double bogies are -3 Points and an Eagle is +5.  The rare albatross or double eagle (as scored by Steve Lowery on the 15th hole the final day to almost come from behind and win in 2002) is worth +8 Points.  The player with the most points accumulated at the end of 72 holes wins the tournament.

The winners of the International since it began in 1986 are Ken Green, John Cook, Joey Sindelar, Greg Norman, Davis Love (twice), Jose Olazabel, Brad Faxon, Phil Mickelson (twice), Steve Lowery, Lee Janzen, Clarence Rose, Vijay Singh, David Toms, Ernie Els, Tom Pernice, Rich Beem, Rod Pampling, with Retief Goosen the winner in 2005 and defending in 2006.
