Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2008 Callaway Pebble Beach Invitational golf tournament.

The Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational golf tournament has been a part of the Fall Series of Silly Season tournaments held annually in November and has been around since 1972.  Originally known as 'The Spalding' tournament throughout the "80's" and 1990's the tournament is now sponsored by Callaway golf hence the title.

The Pebble Beach Invitational is the 'Only golf tournament which pits players of the PGA, LPGA, Champions, and Nationwide Tours against each other' competing for a $300,000 annual purse.

The tournament features a field of 81 golf professionals paired with a different amateur team of three amateurs each of the first three days played on the Old Del Monte, Spyglass Hill, and the Pebble Beach golf links courses.

The field is then cut after Saturday's third round with 40 professionals and 10 amateur teams advancing to compete on Sunday for the booty.  Attendance is Free and spectators may walk along with the players in this the most informal of tournament formats.
