Welcome to our 2010 WGC (World Golf Championships) -CA Championship - World Federation of Golf Tours golf tournament page!   In 1996, golf's five leading professional Tours -- the European Tour, Japan Golf Tour, PGA TOUR, PGA Tour of Australasian and Southern Africa Tour -- reached agreement on several key elements of professional golf designed to create new international events beginning in 1999.  A common qualification standard for the series is top players from the Official World Golf Ranking, which ensures a strong field. The World Golf Championships feature some of the largest purses in professional golf. First prize money is in excess of $1 million. 

Tiger Woods won the last two Ford Championships played at Doral and was the defending champion of this tournament played now known as the World Federation of Golf Tours WGC-CA Championship.  

Geoff Ogilvy defeated Tiger in 2008 and disrupted a previous winning streak of three in a row for Woods.  Tiger returned here in 2009 but was still rusty after almost a year off and major reconstructive knee surgery.  Phil Mickelson won the tournament and is defending champion here in 2010.
